A massive thank you to Gary Ross, former Rugby League player for South Sydney and Eastern Suburbs and owner of Rossco’s Complete Health & Fitness Studio for recently completing a Squat & Deadlift Superset Challenge and raising funds for the Foundation. Gary Ross smashed out 508 reps of squats and deadlifts, a total of 34,000kgs in 39mins, not bad for a 61 year old! Gary was supported in the gym by both the Parramatta Eels and South Sydney Rabbitohs players who had played against each other the night before.
Shaun and Alex also donated some exciting NRL match worn and signed memorabilia raising $17,409 in an online auction. Raising close to $20,000 in total to help find a cure for paralysis!
Gary was inspired by his friend Kurt Drysdale, an aspiring rugby league player, who was injured during a game and is now a ventilated quadriplegic. Kurt is a wonderful Cure Crusader for the Foundation.
Gary met Kurt through his nephew, Parramatta Eels player Shaun Lane and South Sydney player Alex Johnson. Kurt is very close friends with Shaun and Alex, having attended school in their junior years and played rugby league together.
