Stay Safe This Summer
For many Australians Summer is a time to get outdoors, venture to the beach, enjoy the pool, head off on a road trip, go for a surf, or holiday with friends and family over the festive season. It's a magnificent time of year and one to be enjoyed and celebrated in true 'Aussie style'.
As part of our annual Summer Safety awareness campaign, we're encouraging Aussie's to also play it safe this holiday season. While it's an exciting time of year, it's also when most spinal cord injury incidents happen and some subtle safety recognition can go a long way.
More than 12,000 Australias are living with a spinal cord injury. Many of these injuries are caused my motor vehicle accidents, sports and recreational activities. The incidents of spinal cord injury are on the rise during the warmer summer months as more people venture outside to play in the sun, which is why it is so important to Stay Safe This Summer!
This year our #SIPsummersafety supporters share what they miss most about Summer...
